Frequently Asked Questions

1.

     Is Calvander a denomination?

No.  Calvander is an intersection outside Carrboro and Chapel Hill near where a number of our founding members live, not far from Morris Grove

Elementary.  We are an autonomous chuch affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and Yates Baptist Association.

People who attend come from all types of denominational backgrounds.

2.

     Where do you meet?

We meet at Morris Grove Elementary School auditorium at 11:00 a.m. every Sunday.  The school is located at 215 Eubanks Road, Chapel Hill,

        NC.

3.

Do I need to bring a Bible?

We encourage everyone to bring their Bibles for the sermon.  If you don't have a Bible, we can provide one for you.

4.

What can I expect during the Sunday morning worship service?

Don't expect to be out at noon.  Our Pastor's teaching style is expositional and interactive.  He will be breaking down the meaning of each verse.

If you are interested in learning to be a disicple, you've come to the right place.

5.

What kind of music do you play?

We play contemporary Christian music like what you might hear on K-LOVE radio.

6.

      Should I dress up?

You are welcome to dress up, but you might be the only one doing so.  We believe Jesus was a carpenter, not a tailor.  Shorts, jeans, khakis, or

whatever else you would like to wear will be fine.  Our Pastor will be wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

7.

     What about kids?

Kids are welcome to stay with their parents during the Sunday Service or participate in Children's Church.
